Free Rides for 2020 New Year’s Eve in San Diego
December 31, 2019
New Year’s Eve is about here, which means lots of celebrations tomorrow night, and of course for many some alcohol…and in some cases probably too many adult beverages. Driving is not a safe thing to be doing when you have been drinking!!
If you are going out to celebrate New Year’s Eve be sure to have a designated (non-drinking) driver, or take an Uber or Lyft (or other car service) so there are no problems with drinking and driving. You can bet, as they always do, that police will be out looking for DUIs and will perhaps have checkpoints set up around the county.
Other options are the FREE rides, beginning at 6 pm, on the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) trolleys and most busses.
Or use the free rides on the North County Transit District (NCTD) which includes the Coaster, the Breeze (busses) and the Sprinter with additional late service being offered on the Sprinter.
The schedule for New Year’s Eve is the normal weekday schedule.
What a great opportunity to get out for New Year’s Eve, have fun, and be safe without needing to drive your car when drinking.
MTS is also pairing up with Lyft – a ride on Lyft beginning or ending at a transit center will get you a 20% discount!
Happy Safe New Year’s Eve 2020!
