2020 New Year Dinner At The Souto House.

2020 New Year Dinner At The Souto House.  We had our New Year's Day traditional Dinner today, and once again it was worth the wait.  We started this tradition over 30 years ago, and hope to continue it for many more years.

Along with the huge lobster tails and claws we also had stuffing with scallops, twice baked bake potatoes, and a bottle of white wine. This year's lobster was 7 1/2 pounds, and it will be enough for two meals. This is the type of meal you walk away from the table needing to unbuckle your belt.

I almost did not post a blog of this year's lobster, but I know how much my friend Endre Barath, Jr. likes to see the pictures of each year's feast, so I decided to post these pictures again this year.

The first picture to the right is of the lobster before it was prepared, and the picture below is the finished product.

George - That is the biggest whopper of a lobster I have ever seen.  I think you should have named him and kept him as a pet.  I think I would have named him "Klepto."

Morning George.

My wife just loves lobster.  I like the lobster rolls.  There is a local food truck that serves them.  Care to take a guess on where we'll be going this weekend?

Good morning, George Souto wow.... 7.5 pounds....  you must need a hammer to break the claws.... I've had a 5 pounder and that was huge.... you could feed a large family with that one....

Thank you everyone for your comments.

Barbara and Endre using a hammer to crack the claws makes a big mess.  The correct way to crack the claws is with the blunt side of a LARGE knife.  It makes a nice clean crack and no mess!!!

Good morning George Souto - Although I am not a seafood eater, your family tradition and photos brings back happy memories of Maine from years ago visiting friends who came together for a Lobster Dinner. I was there too and enjoyed the boring non-seafood and always pitched in to prepare the meal and clean-up duty. Lobsters ALWAYS stirs up good conversations and makes great memories too. Your family tradition is one to drool over.
