The Great Swing State/Is Obama Buying A Short Sale on Ft. Myers Beach?

By
Real Estate Agent with Premier Florida Realty of SWFL

Shall we examine the recent history of elections in Florida?  I think not.  Do Floridians get too much Vitamin D, i.e. too much sun?  Maybe.  How will Florida vote in the upcoming presidential election?  Will it be Obama or McCain?

McCain is obviously more in touch with the people of Florida, generation wise, post baby boomers. But, Obama has recently announced his intent of purchasing a home on Fort Myers Beach.  It is a short sale, and there's not many of these on Fort Myers Beach, but he's managed to find a gorgeous beach shack.   If the sale goes thorugh (which is dependant upon the Bank's response to his offer, which may take up to six years), he will then become a native son.

This Realtor is not endorsing anyone . . . .yet.

I think it is funny tht his soluation to the economy and the melt down of the Housesing market is to strike out and buy a second home in a narrow market... hmm

Eric, you are not suggesting that Obama is acting in an elitist way by buying in a narrow market, are you?

Hhhmmm, That is interesting that Mr. Obama is looking to buy a home on Ft. Myers Beach. On the positive side, IF he does buy a home and we have a bad hurricane, maybe Ft. Myers would see feredal assistance much quicker. ...... Gotta look at the positive in every situation. Sean Allen

Actually, Sean, after Charlie hit just north of us, we had no complaints about the assistance provided by the Government.  When we were finally allowed back on the Island, the National Guard was there for security.  The Red Cross was there and went up and down every street of the Island twice a day handing out food and water.  Quite a different story from New Orleans

He should buy in Arizona instead -- McCain is at risk of losing his home state -- we know him too well.
