University of Florida Health (UF Health) recently announced plans to acquire Central Florida Health. Mergers like this are not uncommon and are attractive because larger health corporations are typically more productive, efficient, and cost effective.
UF Health currently includes two main campuses, eight hospitals (with two teaching facilities and five specialty hospitals), six health colleges and nine research institutes.
