A Photo Finish

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Ward County Notary Services

Now that I've looked over a couple hundred old photos I've inherited and sorted out the ones I want to keep I'm starting to label them. Grandpa in the cribThis has

brought me to the realization that if you don't share your knowledge (your information) then your knowledge and information is worthless to society.

Less then a fourth of the photos I inherited had labels on them. It's a shame because if I knew what they were I'd know who to pass them on to or even if they important

This is what Active Rain is all about. Here we share knowledge and wisdom. Do you want to live on... be immortal? Post!

We also come here for FUN!

Grandpa cutting it up

The picture of the baby in the crib is simply labeled "Daddy". Most of these pics were my moms so I have to assume the baby is my grandpa.

The other two pictures are from a "photo booth" are labeled "Abe & Ed New Years Eve, New York". Ed was my grandpa, the same person as the baby in the crib. Is it my imagination or does it look like those mustaches are falling off?

I'm thinking that the pictures may have been taken at the 1939 Worlds Fair. Did you know that the 1st photo booth was used at the 1889 World's Fair? Looking up the Photo Booth on Wikki was fun and I'd recommend you take a look for your self.

Good morning, Bob... I have albums full of photos from my mother... sad to say, I can't identify many of the people in those photos outside of immediate family.

I thought they looked a little suspicious Kat Palmiotti and knowing the photo was done on New Years Eve made me even more suspicious.

Exactly Brian England ! As they are they will get passed around from relative to relative and if no one can identify them they will be 100 year old trash.

Nina Hollander when I'm done with this batch I'm done. I will pass the unidentified on to my sister and she will most likely trash most of them. It's really to bad this history will be lost.

Labels identifying old photos and especially people in them is so important.  Like you, I inherited a box full of old family photos several years ago.  Several photos still have un-named individuals in them.
