The real estate business is like no other. In our business, it’s who you know that is most important. What you know and/or don’t know will all fall into place along the way. That’s a frightening statement to make, but it’s true! Those who know people and know the business are sitting on top of the real estate pile.
The original method of marketing in the real estate business was networking. Those were the days when deals were put together on a hand shake. Thankfully, rules came into play and the hand shake was nothing more than a thank you, after the written agreements were signed!
We are again fully relying on who we know to secure our future listings. There continues to be an extreme sellers’ market across most of the country. Listings are very slim in our town, and the team members are beating the pavement plus making phone calls to past clients in an attempt to “shake some fruit from the trees.”
Most people appreciate hearing from past clients. How quickly we forget about the true nature of our business. It’s a people business. People knowing People; People needing People; and finally People helping People!
We have been fairly successful with “touching base” with past clients and acquaintances. They don’t need to be friends. They need to people who know other people. They are the key to success in any tight market.
There’s no time like the present to shake that fruit from the tree….
