Wile E. Coyote Pays a Visit

Bobcats, coyotes, and critters! Oh my!

Coyote

Addison's Mayor, Joe Chow, addressed the issues of coyotes at the monthly Mayor's Coffee yesterday. He told us that according to the State of Texas, it doesn't do any good to try to relocate them. We need to have a live-and-let-live philosophy with them. And don't feed them!

I hope that's the last I see of Wile E. Coyote. Beep! Beep!

Until a few years ago, seeing coyotes and bobcats was pretty unusual here. With all the new construction to the north, they have nowhere to go.

Lori I live right under a mountain preserve and I quite often hear the coyotees singing during the day and night.  On occassion I see them on the hiking trails.  If I do I simply pick up a couple of rocks just in case.  But nothing has every happened as they run off.  I do not take my little dog out hiking with me as he'd be a target.

My neighbors have little dogs and I worry about them along with the grey cat that roams the neighborhood.

Well that's a bit unnerving Lori. We get deer around here all the time but I don't think I could just "live & let live" with coyotes roaming around.

I could deal with deer more easily than with the coyotes!

Yep, we have em' around here too. Fortunately, the dogs keep them from getting too close to our place, but we see them in the neighbors field and hear their eerie noises during the night - very close-by.

I haven't heard them vocalize. Just seeing one is scary enough for me.
