Ednor Gardens Neighborhood in Baltimore City
Baltimore City is made up of over 225 neighborhoods, offering something for everyone!!
I know, as Realtor's, we aren't supposed to have favorites, but, Ednor Gardens is one of my favorite neighborhoods in Baltimore City. It is affordably priced with a median home price of $165,000. There is something for just about every budget here too - modest row homes to luxurious single family homes. In the spring some of the streets are ablaze with blooms and the colors are amazingly beautiful. My mother was quite a flower gardener and she would have given the residents of Ednor Gardens much to aspire to!!
Ednor Gardens is located north of the City center on the north side of the old Memorial Stadium site, north of 33rd Street, west of Hillen, east of Ellerslie and south of Argonne Drive, The Alameda and Roundhill Road and is bordered on the north side by the Loch Raven VA Medical Center. On the south side there is a YMCA, City College and Johns Hopkins Eastern Campus. The neighborhood is well served by public transportation and is only 15 minutes from Penn Station for commuters to other areas.
The area was developed by Edward Gallagher and his 2 sons Edward and Norman (hence the name Ednor). Development started during World War I and continued through to about 1950. Public records indicate that about 71% of the homes here are owner occupied and boarded up homes are very rare in this neighborhood.
In 2019 - 97 homes sold ranging in price from $39,728 to $293,000.
Currently (as of 1/10/2020), there are 16 homes being offered for sale or coming soon ranging in price from $115,000 to $241,900; including one that I have listed at 902 Chestnut Hill Road.
