Ring in the Year of the Rat with International Market Place on Saturday, January 25 from 12 to 4 p.m. The Center is celebrating the Lunar New Year with family friendly activities, including a free lion dance performance (12 to 2 p.m.) and calligraphy workshop (2 to 4 p.m.).
The lion dance will move throughout the Center’s first floor and guests can snap photos and “feed” the lion with complimentary red envelopes from Customer Service, while supplies last. Following the lion dance, guests are invited to learn about traditional Chinese calligraphy and receive a free calligraphy gift. Calligraphers will assist guests in selecting their own Chinese idiom which will be inscribed with gold ink on red paper, symbolizing good luck.
Saturday, January 25, 2020 Enjoy traditional Chinese New Year music throughout the center all day, plus:
- 12:00pm - 2:00pm Lion Dance Performance and Store Visits Educational Presentation and Photo Opportunity (Queen's Court)
- 1:30pm - 4:00pm Traditional Chinese Calligraphers, Madame Chang and Master Tsui (Queen's Court)
- 6:30pm - 7:15pm Regularly programmed O Nā Lani Sunset Stories (Music & Hula Show) at Queen's Court
