I wrote a blog not so long ago that seemed to touch a nerve with many. I got many many upbeat and wonderful comments and was featured in three different groups. I was touched and appreciated by the attention. If ever I wrote something that was worthy of a full feature it was probably this one but alas it was not to be and I knew it.

Fortunately I lost my expectation for a regular feature long ago, and that is a good thing. It is very much like having expectations with clients, providers, and even those in our real families. It is better to do your best and take what comes, than have expectations that are often dashed. Have a great day my friends.

Good morning Sheila,
Every week I encourage members to nominate Featury worthy posts. There is one member who does so regularly and a couple who do so occasionally. There is no restriction on recommending your own post. My only restrictions are no volatile subjects such as partisan politics of any kind.

That said, if you are referring to the post I think you are, it received a lot of well-deserved comments.  And, I have had it queued for the next edition. I take them in the order they are received and bookmarked.

In the past, I have been amazed at posts that I have written which became featured, while others haven't.  I don't take it personally, either way.  One thing I have noticed however, is posts which relate more to our profession, or are learning tools, often gain more attention.  I also think those who create weekly posts that include their favored reads of others, like Carol Williams "Second Chance Saturday" and Kathy Strieb's "What I Learned this Week at ActiveRain," are a really positive thing.  And, I'm glad to see them featured each week!

Features are flattering, but they do not put money in the bank account. And the 'sphere' who chases them and seeks attention by ONLY commenting on them . . . well . . . with every word we type, we reveal a bit of our souls, n'est ce pas?

Since I've been moderating the Bartender group, I've been often challenged to find feature-worthy posts. And some days I want to feature EVERYTHING.
