Do you think about what you do for marketing and why you do it? Most would say you market to make the phone ring. That’s a true statement, but we need to look beyond the immediate.
We market for future business. Not everyone will respond immediately. Some will use that marketing piece as incentive to make decisions about whether or not to participate at all in the real estate market.
Marketing pieces that are prepared properly often provide that jolt of energy encouraging the homeowner to call you. That call is usually described by the caller as “just curious about what our home is worth. We’re probably not selling.”
Get excited about that one. They can’t wait to hear the price range and list their home, unless your presentation is not up to par.
However, there are many homeowners who have no desire to participate in the market immediately. What they will do is follow you and make note of how you market.
Are you marketing consistently? Do you market online and offline? Will these new followers check out your Facebook page to figure out who you are and how transparent you are online about yourself? People do like to know something about who they will be working with, if they select you!
People also want to deal with successful people, and you know what that means. It means you must learn to “shout out about YOURSELF.” This is not always easy for most. I never had a problem with it because I was always hungry for more, and this is how we are assured of receiving more.
Self-promotion should be a small percentage of your business. Is it? Or do you never shout out your accomplishments? Big mistake. Big void. At some point, you’ll feel it.
Just a few thoughts for the moment….
