Winnie the Pooh Day is an opportunity to enjoy one of my favorite storybook characters, Winnie-the-Pooh, the loveable bear of little brain created by A.A. Milne.
Winnie the Pooh Day was established to celebrate the birth of Allan Alexander Milne on January 18th, 1882, and the beloved Pooh Bear.
Winnie the Pooh's pals include his human best friend Christopher Robin (named for A.A. Milne's son), the rambunctious Tigger, melancholy donkey Eeyore, anxious Piglet, the sweet mother-son duo of Kanga and Roo, the wise (if dyslexlic) old Owl, and the Hundred Acre Woods' own fussbucket gardener, Rabbit.
Have some fun and celebrate Winnie the Pooh Day by reading about the adventures of Pooh and his friends. These boks are best enjoyed by reading them out loud to young children and the young at heart. It's never too late to introduce others to the hunny-loving "silly old bear" named Winnie the Pooh.
