Serendipity Sunday: A Very Different Farmers Market!

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Napa Consultants DRE00893924

Yesterday morning, as we were driving to the Santa Barbara Farmers Market, we had texts coming in from an island right on the Vietnam and Cambodian border.  Our niece, Allie is there on vacation and is exploring Southeast Asia.

Pictured above is a boat coming to market.  In the front of the boat, the man is holding a cherimoya, which in season here in Santa Barbara.  Cherimoyas are a fruit with a sweet custard interior. It was one of Mark Twain's favorites.  The rest of the produces looks like sweet potatoes.

Michael Jacobs Allie is staying for 3 months.  It is how she deals with the Minnesota winters.  She travels just with her backpack, and explores the cities and the hinterlands.  She is very adventurous and loves to travel.  Our intention was to join her for two weeks!

Here she is posing with a boa!  LOL A

I have never tried a cherimoya.  It sounds like I need to try one.  BTW-no snakes will ever spend time draping my shoulders.  Ha!

I'd say Allie is adventurous - not sure I'd be happy and smiling with a boa around my shoulders!

That is a unique way of selling your products but very common place in southeast Asia from my experiences Alexandra.

I hope you are enjoying your Sunday Ron and Alexandra Seigel

Good afternoon Ron and Alexandra Seigel - you niece is really quite adventurous.  I don't think I want to hold a boa.

That is so cool.  Can you imagine your Saturday morning Farmer's Market being like that?  I would have to pass on the snake pictured in comment #10 however.  It tells me its name is "Fluffy."

So that's what their called.  I've seen them in our local market, was wondering what they taste like.  Now that I know I may, may mind you buy one, just to try it out

Myrl Jeffcoat When we first moved here, there was a guy that was a regular at the beach.  He would bring his albino boa (the boa was yellow) with him, and he would keep out of the sun so that the skin would not be affected.  We touched him (the boa).  He was OK and beautiful watching the coils...A

Ron and Alexandra Seigel as I was reading this, here was my initial thought. "I'm so grateful Allie has Ron and Alexandra in her life."  But, you're right, it does go both ways.
