The second of four Winter Cultural Series is right around the corner. This week in fact. The Cherry Creek Chorale will be swinging by the Cherry Hills Community Church this Thursday to perform. Come by for an intensely rewarding and loud live performance. The concert will range from 7:00pm to 8:30pm and will feature one of Denver’s biggest and best community choirs. This broadly appealing program will celebrate American music and other beloved choral classics. A special highlight of this very family-friendly concert will be a generous sampling of all your favorite Disney Movie songs. There are so many to choose from, and undoubtedly everyone’s favorite may not be completely aligned, however if you are a fan of Disney movies in general and the animated ones specifically, there will be a lot here for you to unpack, digest and enjoy. If you and your children and grandchildren would like to dress up as one of your favorite Disney characters, that will be encouraged. The CherryTones will be the warm up act for the night, a small ensemble that always specializes in a delightful cross section of their incredibly popular repertoire. As of this blog post there are still the $10 early bird tickets for purchase. They will be $15 starting Monday. Go to any HRCA rec decenter to pick up tickets, or simply visit online to do the same. A little history lesson for you, CAA was established in February 2001 to address the need for a cultural foundation in the rapidly growing community of Highlands Ranch. The CAA provides a central organization from which educational, artistic, musical, theatrical and dance events are provided to the more than 90,000 Highlands Ranch residents and surrounding communities. SCFD Since 1989, Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) has distributed funds from a 1/10 of 1% sales and use tax to cultural facilities throughout the seven-county Denver, Colorado metropolitan area (Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas, and Jefferson counties). The funds support cultural facilities whose primary purpose is for enlightening and entertaining the public through the production, presentation, exhibition, advancement or preservation of visual arts, performing arts, cultural history, natural history, or natural sciences.
