I’ve written motivational posts before about happiness. I’m a firm believer that others cannot make our happiness, nor can they take it away. We are in control of our own inner being - and that includes happiness.
Making gratitude affirmations is a great way to reflect upon those things for which you are grateful. My guess is that many of them also make you happy. A good exercise to make you more reflective - and aware - is to list what makes you happy.
Now, reviewing that list, how often are you actually able to experience those things? Now, focus on ONE of those things - how can you turn it into a daily habit?
They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks but, you can! It takes patience and, more importantly, the drive to make that change. Again, that drive comes from within.
So, putting your drive to work DAILY on this one simple thought and doing so for 21 days, without fail, a new habit can be created. From there, building upon that same theory, you will be more successful turning negatives into positives. Thus, happiness will prevail in your life!
