Sandy Padula and Norm Padula, JD, GRI provide us with a very nice post with some of the reasons that people are downsizing, not just in California, but all over the country.

Original content by Sandy Padula and Norm Padula, JD, GRI CA 01938972,CA-DBO1483386

For all the reasons below and many more, we have heard our sellers detail why they want to downsize.

Out of curiosity, are there any others that ‘pop’ into your mind?

Here in San Diego County, we have heard the following and not just for downsizing, but to leave the State entirely:

  1. Taxes are no longer reasonable
  2. Too many people resulting in too much road congestion and crime
  3. Desire to sell at the peak price
  4. Leaving the Country

And the list goes on!

Thinking of downsizing?

That's a good one to share Brian! Too much to handle, is the #1 reason I have encountered, and wanting to move to an active adult community, where everything is close-by.

We donwsized last year.  There is a lot to be said for it, but I believe we downsized too far!  Our next house we will be somewhere between the big house we sold and the little house we live in.  There is a lot to think about!

Hi Brian:

I missed this post from Sandy and Norm - interesting data. I hear a variety of reasons for downsizing, but there are also some moving up to bigger homes, too!

Enjoy your weekend!
