YouTube Thursdays
Do you want people to find you through videos. Showcasing your market is a great way to get found.
If you want to build an effective community video library, the first step is to outline your goals.
Still photos do a great job of selling homes, but videos offer us an experience. Sights and sounds help transport us to other locales - and the more senses you can engage via video, the better. More on that topic as we continue this series in the weeks ahead.
First of all, what do you love about your community?
Here's a short list we created for Camas, Washington that are top-of-mind. We will likely use a similar list for the neighboring town of Washougal.
- Small town charm.
- Great location.
- Boutique shops.
- Fun eateries.
- Variety of neighborhoods.
- Nature abounds. Parks, trails, natural resources.
- Laid back lifestyle. You don't see many suits and ties here.
- Little traffic congestion.
- Family oriented events.
- Portland International Airport - minutes away!
- The Columbia River!
- Beach and mountains are an hour away.
Next, we'll focus on the actual videos we need to produce in order to convey these area lifestyle benefits to others.
For example, let's look at number 1. Small town-charm.
A tour of the downtown area with its tree-lined streets showcasing the friendly laid-back vibe. The video will show a variety of shops, restaurants, and perhaps B-roll we've gathered from former downtown events. A key component includes locals talking about what they love about the downtown experience.
Keep in mind, community videos are NOT about us. However, these videos are going to help promote our Brand - and quietly, promote us. Think of these videos as key opportunities for building a relationship with the viewer.
Next week, more on the planning aspects of our community video library.
YouTuber of the Week
This week, we highlight Craig Daniels and his YouTube Channel, Craig's Classroom on YouTube. You'll find videos to help answer many of your tech questions in Active Rain and beyond. For example, here's one explaining how to use Microsoft Publisher to Create a Desktop Wallpaper.
Thanks Craig, for all you do in Active Rain.
Much like Anita Clark 's Facebook Fridays, we encourage you to subscribe to each other's YouTube Channels - and take a minute to "like" or leave a comment. You can also add your own YouTube Channel in the comments below, and ask for subscribers. Be sure to subscribe back though - it's quid pro quo!
ViewHomes™ grew out of our passion for nature, beautiful surroundings, and peaceful environments. Starting together in an urban environment, over the years we've gravitated towards areas with smaller populations and less density. We now enjoy our lifestyle in a rural environment, but with close proximity to metropolitan areas where we appreciate all the amenities of fine restaurants, shopping, and an easy drive to an international airport.
Living in ViewHomes™ is like having “elbowroom for the soul”.
