After your plan and design meetings, the plans are ordered, engineering is ordered and the plans are submitted for architectural approval. This process could be from 4 to 8 weeks depending on the scope of your design. If there are changes you are making to the builder's plan, these changes need approval. Approved, then the blueprints are ordered.
Plans are submitted to the city and the necessary permits are ordered. The lot has been graded, form boards in place and slab poured.
Framing and mechanical systems is next.

Some common construction terms for framing houses:
TGI is a common name for TJI - Truss Joist I-beam. They are the floor joist that span the foundation to create the floor.
Wall stud - vertical framing in the building's walls.
Joist - horizontal structural member in framing.
Rafters - sloped structural wood beams that extend from the ridge or hip to the wall plate, downslope perimeter or ease and that are designed to support the roof deck. (wikipedia). 
Header - is a beam that supports doorframes, windowframes to prevents sagging.
In new construction, you will see PEX piping material used in the bathrooms. This material is flexible and well adapted for changing temperatures in the home.

The green on the studs in this home is a pre-construction termite treatment.
At this stage of your new home construction, it is hard to determine a closing date by the builder. There could be many delays for a builder, including weather, delivery of materials and inspections. So be patient and have fun watching your home come into fruition.
