Are You Fulfilling Your New Year Resolutions?

http://www.myrljeffcoat.com

When 2020 found way to this New Year, I vowed to take on several things I had been neglecting. These tasks included painting and redoing a bedroom in my home. And, especially, they included taking care of my eyes. A few years back I had seen an ophthalmologist because I had suddenly began seeing halos. And, my vision seemed to degrade rather suddenly! During the eye exam, the doctor told me things would get better. True to his words, the halos disappeared after a few days. However because of a vitreous detachment he hadn’t told me about at the time, I have had a few more episodes with the halos, and my vision as far as depth of field, isn’t quite the same.

A couple weeks ago, I managed to procure an appointment to see another ophthalmologist who I have a little more confidence in. He discovered cataracts in both my eyes, with one being significant. I am on the docket to have that taken care of in a few weeks.

Last week, I went to see the dentist, and unloaded a few bucks. The only tooth remaining in my mouth with a filling remaining, had cracked. It needed work which included a crown! It’s been repaired now.

All in all, I’m making good progress while working through my list of things to do! The bedroom is also mostly painted. At my age, I find what I use to do in 4 hours takes a couple days now, and it takes much more heavy breathing!

So, how is your week shaping up?  And, especially, are you fulfilling your New Year Resolutions?

I know many people that have had cataract surgery and all of them were a success, so I am certain that yours will go well also!  My week will be nice, I am going to spend it watching a friend of mine play in the Phoenix Open golf tournament.

Myrl,

We do not make resolutions.  All is well on the front in our world.  Good for you for repainting, and like Joe Pryor I would hire someone.  Happy Tuesday, and I love the picture.  A

Ha! I just came back from the chiro and I had an atlas nudged out a bit (no doubt, from too much phone time) which was causing ME some vision and equilibrium issues!

I don't make resolutions. I start the new year exactly a year and a day older, and so I just set the intention that I keep getting better.

And so I do.

Hi Myrl,

You are making good progress!  Good for you.  I don't make resolutions. Just like December of 2018, my "spring" selling season started in December of 2019.  We are working like a one-armed paper hanger right now.

Hi Myrl,
Good for you for making tour health a priority. I would suggest a different dentist, though.  LOL

Myrl glad to hear everything seems to be going according to plan, but you might want to ask for a refund on the dental work ...... LOL

Good for you for making such great progress on important things! Hope all works out well with the eyes! Having a crown done is such fun, isn't it?

My eyes and teeth checks are also done, well, they will be soon. My crown is due in on February 4th. So important to take care of our health matters first, isn't it? I love this photo, saw it on Facebook and you made me laugh heartily.

Myrl---We really do need to find the best doctors and dentists because we only have one body! And I do believe in hiring contractors for the house--they do way better than I do.

Hi Myrl, I love the photo and perfect for this post.... at my age the best doctors are on my list. I don't paint anymore, I just hire a contractor. I have been using the same ones for years and are fantastic.

Myrl Jeffcoat - I don't know if it's my eyes or not, but you are still gorgeous! I love your honesty, artistic abilities/creativity, and your willingness to share stories from the heart that eventually we all need to face at some time in life.

May your bones keep you hopping, your eyes see better with cataract surgery, and your dinners taste better after that tooth is repaired. Oh, and of course, when in doubt, don't. Finding the right doctors is critical for all ages. Best wishes and keep smiling! You make the world (at least my AR world) a better place.
