It’s That Special Time of Year! It’s Countdown to Super Bowl Sunday
In case you weren’t aware, I love football. And I enjoy parties. However, the Super Bowl and party...never the twain shall meet!!
Larry and I have been to our share of Super Bowl parties and we finally decided that we wanted to watch the game too much to be at a party! Super Bowl Sunday is also a day of mixed emotions for me as well. It’s (hopefully) a great game to watch and at the same time, it signals the end of the football season.
Our good friends in Florida knew that so we went to the party and had fun and mingled but left before the actual start of the game.
My youngest grandson and I usually have some type of friendly wager but this year will be hard because we’re both rooting for the same team.
If you’re not a fan of football, you might watch just to enjoy the ads. Maybe Ron and Alexandra Seigel will watch for the ads. And those of you who are music-focused might want to watch for the Half Time Entertainment. Since I’m not a huge fan of the performers, this will be a great time to do what most every other Super Bowl viewer does...EAT!!!!
Below is a Sausage Dip I’ve been making for years. It’s easy to make and can be made ahead of time. My friend’s daughter took the leftovers one year and served it over noodles!
1 regular size Owens hot/spicy sausage
½ c. finely chopped mushrooms
½ c. finely chopped celery
½ c. finely chopped onions
Mix into pan & saute. Pour & strain off fat.
Mix in 1 small container sour cream + 1 egg+ 2 T. Parmesan cheese. Bake 30 minutes @ 300 degrees.
Serve in chafing dish with Fritos, celery, tortilla chips.
*I double the recipe.
Who will Larry and I be rooting for?
PS... after the Super Bowl we have 186 days until the Hall of Fame Game in Canton, OH.
