The Dogs of Winter.......

I love animals. In fact the majority of my family in canine. Winter is hard on all of us. For stray dogs and cats and those who don't consider animals family winter is particularly difficult. My heart breaks for these animals. Cruelty is rampant for animals and most have no choices. I write this today in the hope that people will bring their own pets in and those without pets will think about adopting from a shelter or rescue so that there will be more room for others who suffer daily.

I believe in helping any who suffer always: animals, people whomever. If you care about animals please cherish yours and always report cruelty if you see it. Bottom line, do what you can and if you are thinking about getting an animal always adopt and don't shop.

we have 2 feral cats for over 9 years now, we got them fix when someone drop them off in our area, and feed them twice a day. They warm up to us a little but not much but I have a place outside with hay down and a enclose area for them if it is cold out.

All of mine have been rescues and all really cool fur babies. There is somebody fairly close to us that leaves their dog out and it barks all day long and sometimes well into the night. I don't get why they even have a dog. It's not that cold here but still, we live in coyote land and I hear of dogs being killed by a pack of them too often.

Thanks for the reminder about adopting if you can. Almost all of our dogs and cats over the last 30+ years were rescued. We have an animal hotline in town for people to report stray animals and those who are suffering. Hopefully it is used well and often.
