Why Your Home Might Be Smarter Than You

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with PMI. Destin

How smart is your home?  Is it smarter that you?  Do you know what the term SMART means?

 Self-Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology.

The first contemporary SMART home technology products became available to consumers between 1998 and the early 2000s. Smart home technology allows users to control and monitor their connected home devices from Smart home apps, And other networked devices. Users can remotely control connected home systems whether they are home or away. This allows for more efficient energy and electric use as well as ensuring your home is secure. Smart home technology contributes to health and well-being enhancement by accommodating people with special needs, especially older people

SMART technology is changing on a daily basis and it does not all work as intended.  It may not work with you because the cost of the tchnology may not make financial sense in the short term .  The cost may not result in savings equal or greater.  The features post shows a speaker but the capabilities are endless.

I'll admit it, Peter... my home is not all that smart and that's so by design. I just don't like being all that dependent on technology. And we have away the smart speaker someone gifted us. I'm fine in keeping up with technology for my business... my home not so much.

Peter, I think this is going to be huge in the coming years, especially with the younger buyers.
