  1. Check your roof and gutters for ice dams and icicles. While you're at it, check your roof for leaks.

  2. Clean and vacuum curtains, window blinds, and ceiling fans.

  3. Recylce your e-waste: Collect your old cell phones, printer cartridges, and batteries and take them to a recycling center or store that will take these items for further recycling.

  4. Clean out your dryer vents.

  5. Clean your sump pump before spring rains arrive.

  6. Check your bathrooms for moisture, mildew and mold.

  7. Clean your range hood filter and fan.

  8. Clean/degrease kitchen cabinets.

  9. Clean or replace shower curtains.

  10. Check your attic for signs of roof leaks, condensation, mold or frost build up. Make sure your insulation is adequate.

  11. Check your siding for any gaps or shingles that may have fallen off.

  12. Sanitize hand-held devices to prevent germs that cause the spread of colds and the flu by disinfecting  phones, remote controls, tablets, as well as door and cabinet knobs.

  13. Get a home energy audit.

  14.  Get a head start on spring cleaning by cleaning out your pantry... take everything out, wipe down the surfaces and check the expiration dates on all food.

  15. Check the charge on your fire extinguisher and replace those with old expiration dates.
