The Ballantyne area of south Charlotte has long been considered one of the hottest neighborhoods in the Queen City. Wondering what some of Ballantyne area's hot neighborhoods are? Here's a list of 12 of the hottest selling neighborhoods in Ballantyne in 2019 to watch in 2020 (and a few "runners up"). With two exceptions each of these communities saw higher sale prices in 2019 compared with 2018. And in the two communities that saw slightly lower sale prices versus the prior year, it was due less to a dimunition in home values as opposed to the price mix of homes sold in these large communities.

25 homes sold in Providence Pointe in 2019 at an average selling price of $414,048 compared with 23 home sales in 2018 at an average sale price of $404,800. Providence Pointe homes sold at 98.3% of asking price on average. Average days on market in 2019 were 27.

Southampton remains a popular Ballantyne neighborhood for home buyers looking for a more affordable home. 23 homes sold in 2019 at an average selling price of $318,457 with nine of these homes selling at under $300,000. Sellers received 98.14% of listing price in final sale price in 2019.

One of Ballantyne area's "earlier" communities built during the 1990's with wonderful community amenities, Thornhill saw 33 homes sell in 2019 at an average sale price of $362,588 compared with 19 home sales in 2018 at an average sale price of $369,263.  Sellers received 97.89% of listing price in final sale price.

One of Ballantyne area's earliest developments, Landen Meadows remains a popular neighborhood for its schools, amenities, and affordable pricing. In 2019, 28 homes sold at an average price of $304,483 compared with 21 homes sold at an average selling price of $299,381 in 2018.. Half of the homes sold at below $300,000. The 28 closed homes sold at 99.03% of listing price.
