National Wear Red Day For Women: February 7, 2020
The first Friday of each February (that's today!) is National Wear Red Day as part of the American Heart Association's Go Red For Women® campaign. Heart disease is not primarily a male problem as so many think. Heart disease and strokes kill one in three women every year! Heart disease is known as the "silent killer" of women. Did you know that cardiovascular disease in the U.S. kills approximately one woman every 80 seconds? Did you know that the American Heart Association says nearly 50% of American adults have some sort of heart diseas?
Fortunately, in the past 15+ years since National Wear Red Day was introduced, great strides have been made in raising awareness that heart disease and strokes are the number one disease affecting women.

Supporting The American Heart Association In Charlotte, NC
Charlotte, North Carolina has a very active American Heart Association Chapter. This year the Charlotte AHA Chapter is holding its 62nd Annual Greater Charlotte Heart Ball on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at the NASCAR Hall of Fame's Crown Ballroom and it's not too late to order tickets. This is a great black tie gala attended by some 1,000 Charlotteans and if you've never been, you should make a point of attending at least once. And if you miss out on the Charlotte Heart Ball, you can still show your commitment to the cause of ending heart disease and stroke in women at the Charlotte 2020 Go Red Luncheon on Friday, April 24, 2020.
I've got my red on today! Go on out and get your red on today, too, for National Wear Red Day!
