   Capitol Beer Fest

Capitol Beer Fest will be held on the Capitol Mall in Sacramento, March 7th from 12 to 4 pm. VIP entry will be at 12 and general admission starts at 1 pm.  It is a very fun day with over 125 different kinds of beer (and hard cider) available.  It is a very tasty and varied list. Some of my favorite breweries attending include, AlaskanDeschutes, Guinness, Knee Deep, Yolo Brewing, and Sierra Nevada. There will be music by, The Top Shelf Band.  Food will be available for purchase from 20 food trucks and, for the first time, there will be some very nice cars on display.  It will sell out soon so get your tickets at https://www.capitolbeerfest.com/tickets/.  It was voted best beer fest four years in a row by Sacramento News and Review.

There are several choices for safe transportation, including a free ride on our rapid transit system.

All proceeds go to the local non-profit, Runnin for Rhett.  It is the local charity that I support.  I am an adult fitness member, pace group leader, frequent volunteer and coach to the kids.  I also donate a part of the proceeds from every real estate transaction to Runnin for Rhett.  Come out for some fun and to support a great cause!

Now, that's a festival I can get behind Raymond Henson .

In my drinking days I would have opened and closed the event BUT I used up all my drink tickets at a young age.

Hello Ray - while I am not a beer drinker, this Sacramento event seems to have a lot of spirit involved beyond the beverages served.

Ron and Alexandra Seigel,  We will have 7,500 in attendance.  They seem to all come at once and I run one of the entry gates.  The festival goers are in a good mood so it ends up being pretty fun.  My wife loves pouring beer for them, especially when they ask what she prefers.  She always tells them ice tea!

Doug Dawes, I know what you mean.  I will not drink anything until the festival is over and then not so much.

Michael Jacobs, before I was a volunteer, I enjoyed the festival (about 5 years ago).  It is fun, but you do need to enjoy beer.  There is quite a few that show up for the music and to be designated drivers.  They get a reduced ticket rate and seem to have fun too.

That appears to be quite a crowd.  This definitely sounds like my kind of event, but I am not very fond of large crowds, haha.  I much prefer casual settings these days.

It is quite a crowd, Brian England .  If I was not volunteering, I would go to the VIP hour.  Less of a crowd and an hour is plenty of time for me to drink beer,  then I would sit back an listen to the music and take some time to look at the beautiful car collection that will be there.  It is a great venue with our state capitol at one end of the festival and our ironic gold bridge at the other end.

John Juarez put it on your calender for next year.  It is a lot of fun and I think we make it better each year.  We are also due for some spring like weather after a couple years of light rain.
