Over the past few years I have meditated, trying to learn to be more present, and aware of what is happening around me. It helps to read people's body language when talking with them as you can quickly see if you are losing someone's interest. For my birthday last year I got a marvelous book, "Nothing is worth more than this day" it is a set of quotes from artists, comedians, writers, singers, jass musicians and philosophers and lots of people I have never heard of, but each is in its own way about being present and enjoying life. Here are a few.
Hey, I've got nothing to do today, but smile. Paul Simon
Just Play. Have fun. Enjoy the game. Michael Jordan
The present moment is filled with joy and happiness. If you are attentive, you will see it. Thich Nhat Hanh
Delight in the little things. Rudyard Kipling
Dance, even if you have nowhere to do it but your own living room. Mary Schmich
So far, so good. Keith Richards.
Have a great weekend and enjoy the moments.
