Peek A Pique

Peek A Pique

or is it

Pique A Peek?

Go ahead.  Beyond that open gate...  Behind the curtain.  Over there.  And here as well.  Let's face it, curiosity can be found in lots of places.

A glimmer of glamour or a glop of gloom.  It's there to discover.  In the process, one can find out a lot about oneself.   Beyond perspective.  But that's a large part of it.  Nothing boring about it in my opinion.  Not at all.

Observations can often reveal and disclose.  They don't necessarily need to be seen.  The other senses can be working too.  Independently as well as when joining forces.

Poems are not read:

they are reread.

Reread the poem, then read between the lines,

then look at it, then watch it, then peek at it:  handle it like an object.

Contemplate its shadows, angles and dimensions.

                                                                                              Terrance Hayes

I really do think that inspiration comes from day-to-day life.

I think there are things that pique our interest.

Sometimes they're in a great conversation with friends,

sometimes they are things you see live,

something you read, a movie trailer you watch...

I think inspiration is kind of laid out there.

One thing we have to practice is recognizing when it happens,

and recording that moment so we can come back to it.

                                                                                                Phil Kay

Off on another trail...perhaps a peak.  Perhaps.

Michael,

The word pique evokes in me the French definition of being piqued (annoyed) or by itself the prick of a needle or some sharp object...lots of info in my rabbit hole!

By nature I am curious and an explorer at heart as is Ron...different things spark our curiousity which makes us that much richer on subjects...and I love poetry of all kinds, haiku always leave me reminded of the power of brevity...I need another cup of coffee.  LOL A

Today when I was walking, I peeked at some very small goslings, hiding under their mothers wing, trying to stay warm and maybe still asleep, I regretted not photographing them when later I came back they were all stumbling around. Not such a good photo as if I had snapped them when i fist saw them peeking out.

I have read the poem (re-read) The road not taken by Robert Frost at least 1000 times. I am still not quite sure if he was sad or happy about his choices.

Nick Vandekar, 610-203-4543 - opportunity knocks at various times and for various reasons.

Jeffrey DiMuria 321.223.6253 Waves Realty - and how does that make you feel?    Maybe that's the point.  Or it could be something entirely different.

Hi Michael Jacobs - Your posts really do make one ponder.  There is always something deeper to think about.  You would have made a great philosophy professor.

Morning Michael.

Poetry is not something I like to read, it's a long story.  But I can read between the lines when talking to someone.  Old habits

James Dray - I understand.

Roy Kelley - no rain expected here today but I do hope the Montgomery County precipitation continues to produce many future photographic possiblities.

I see peek often used for pique. Oh well, there are worse mistakes. I like to peek at peaks, and they never to fail pique my interest. The mountains are always calling.

Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD - I have become accustomed to people laughing(or merely ignoring) at us in Southern California when we talk of our "mountains" when they appear as nothing more than a small hill to them.
