So I have now been in the Berkshires for eight plus years. In that time I have learned about my area and about myself. I have suffered loss and enjoyed joy. My home is essentially done and I enjoy it. I have learned a lot about gardening and have created a space outside that brings me satisfaction and pleasure. I have found joy in simple things and learned being in the moment matters.
The Berkshires is a unique area. There are many seasons here and sometimes all in one day. I never want for something to do, and I have also decided that is is OK to do nothing at all. Small town living suits me. I enjoy trips to the post office because there is no mail delivery here. I have gotten used to going to the dump often because there is no trash pickup here either. People notice one another in small towns.
So Michael, this is why I have chosen to live in the Berkshires. I hope you have enjoyed sharing my journey. Each of us is the only one who can truly understand why we wind up where we do. I am home.
The end.
