Well, this doesn't really have to do with Real Estate... but golly gee: It's Corn Season!

For those of you who haven't experienced absolutely-fresh, picked-that-morning Corn, you're in for a treat!

Fact is: the Skagit Valley farmers grow and produce the best and sweetest corn to be found anywhere in the world. And, while they send the bulk of it to market... these farmers maintain 'roadside stands' stocked with their latest harvest.  A boon to all of us!

Listed below are some of our favorites:

I-5 and Hwy 534
This stand is on the east side of Interstate 5.  Right across from the Shell station. This is in Conway, about 5 miles south of Mount Vernon.  These folks stock this stand every morning, fresh harvest, and it's the best corn you'll find anywhere in the world.  Right now, they're selling 6 ears for a dollar.  The best!

I-5 and George Hopper Road
Exit I-5, and go west.  Turn right at the first stop sign (near the auto dealers).  Go to the end of the road: you'll see an unattended Corn Stand.  Again: six ears for a buck... put your dollar in the coin box.

McLean Road, Mount Vernon
Exit I-5 on Kincaid St in Mount Vernon.  Go west, and turn right at the first stop-light.  Follow the road (hooks to the left), and proceed west over the big green bridge.  Turn left at the first traffic light ('Wall St') after the bridge.  Wall St becomes McLean Road, going west.  Follow this road, and you'll see many roadside Corn Stands along the side of the road.  Again, these are unattended, with the best fresh-picked corn you'll ever taste, fresh-stocked daily.  If you have time, follow McLean road west, and turn left on La Conner Whitney road... and follow the signs to La Conner, WA.  Very cool and quaint turn-of-the-century town along the Swinomish Channel.  And probably the best Antique stores in all of Western Washington.

Best Local Produce in Mount Vernon - fresh pies too!
Well, this is not corn-related, but here you go:

Fact is: the Berry Barn on the outskirts of Mount Vernon stocks the best fresh local produce every day... all from local growers.  This is amazing, tasty stuff that always includes local corn, berries and more.  Right now, they have local-grown blueberries, blackberries, cherries, apples and more.  They cook fresh pies every day, using the freshest local stuff.  Wow! You have to see it to believe it.  Great prices too.  Here's a map to the Berry Barn: http://www.lingonberry.com/cri/0606/M/Conway%20to%2014285%20Laconner%20Whitney%20Rd,%20Mount%20Vernon,%20WA%2098273_files/Conway%20to%2014285%20Laconner%20Whitney%20Rd,%20Mount%20Vernon,%20WA%2098273.htm

Shameless plug: I mean, seriously... when you taste our local produce, you might want to live here, right?  Right.  Kellie and I are here to help.  Check our website, and contact us when you're ready!  http://www.previewhomepro.com
