We celebrated Valentine's Day on Thursday to avoid crowds. We have a favorite Japanese restaurant, Arigato, that opens at 5:30PM, (no reservations taken). You have to be there before opening because the line goes all the way down the street to get in by opening time.
We love sitting at the bar so that we can watch all four chefs working. There is so much artistry involved in creating this. Pictured above is blue fin carpaccio of tuna (sashimi).
Notice the roll and the colors of the sauce that chef Jose created especially for us (3 types of fish), with an asparagus center. He uses a minimal amount of rice, so it is never the main event in his creation.
And if your friends are sushi and sashimi averse, they have beef and chicken entrees as well as cooked seafood.
Wishing you a great Sunday, and a delightful week ahead!
