Long before the sunrises, I’m at the YMCA every morning, but on Sunday, it doesn’t open until 7:00am. That makes today feel like a “lazy day,” but I got there!!! I’m psyched that I did.
I decided to go full force and push to improve the amount of weight I use. My greatest challenge has always been the overhead cables.
The photo is an old photo with much lighter weights, but I wanted to show overhead cables for those who are not familiar with them.
Today I did 15 reps at 35 pounds, and then decided to test 37.5 pounds. I was able to pull that weight ¾ of the way over my head and then I “hit the brick wall.”
Those cables were not moving another inch. It took me almost 2 years to build up enough strength to pull the 35 pounds out and do 15 reps. It’s tough to keep increasing those goals at my age!
My goal is 40 pounds. I hope I can master that while I’m still in my 70’s. LOL!!!
