The past does not belong in the now. Dragging the past into your. present moment gives you an excuse for where you are. Now is an opportunity to start fresh, By delighting in the present, we can see the opportunities the present has to offer from a fresh open point of view. You cannot escape the Now, it is always Now. So why not make friends with the present moment?
One of our favorite book titles on this subject is Wherever You Go, There You Are' written by Jon Kabbat Zin, in 1994. (Jon Kabbat-Zinn, PhD, is internationally known for his work as a scientist, writer, and meditation teacher engaged in bringing mindfulness into the mainstream of medicine and society. He is professor of medicine emeritus at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.)
"Mindfulness means paying attention [to the world] in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, and non judgmentally."
Starting fresh in the moment is opening up to good things coming to you. It is looking at things with fresh eyes, free of the judgmental glasses we as humans wear. You will find that you feel happy and comfortable in your skin.
“As soon as you honor the present moment, all unhappiness and struggle dissolve, and life begins to flow with joy and ease. When you act out the present-moment awareness, whatever you do becomes imbued with a sense of quality, care, and love - even the most simple action.”
― Eckhart Tolle
"The present moment is filled with joy and happiness. If you are attentive you will see it"
--Thich Nhat Hanh
"Yesterday is already gone. Tomorrow is not here yet. Today is the only day available to us; it is the most important day of our lives."
