Many Millennials Leaving Cities for Suburbs

The trend of millennials wanting to live in cities with benefits like walkability, coffee shops and lots of rentals is shifting. According to Florida Trend, many in that generation are now getting married, having children, and moving to the suburbs in search of detached homes, good school districts and more.

Harvard University’s Joint Center for Housing Studies reports that two million households nationally are going to be created by millennials in the next ten years, and according to the Metrostudy real estate consulting firm, millennials are the “No. 1 new-home purchaser” in Jacksonville, Orlando and Tampa.
