February 2020 Carlsbad Art Wall Mural
The first Carlsbad Art Wall (CAW) of 2020 was painted this past weekend, February 15 and 16, by Skechy_Art. Why not check out his Instagram site.

If you live in the area or have visited Carlsbad, it’s likely you have driven by the wall when heading toward the beach. Even if you don’t know the official #CarlsbadArtWall name you no doubt have noticed the changing murals on the east-facing wall of Senor Grubby’s on Carlsbad Village Drive, west of the train tracks and easily seen when heading to Carlsbad Boulevard.
Carlsbad artist, Bryan Snyder, founded the Carlsbad Art Wall (CAW) in 2015, in cooperation with the owner of the popular Mexican restaurant, Senor Grubby’s, in Carlsbad Village. The wall is an opportunity for residents and visitors to enjoy beautiful and temporary public art by local, regional (often Los Angeles) and international muralists (recently from New Zealand), with typically 4 new murals a year.

There are a number of other murals around Carlsbad Village to enjoy, including this mural by Bryan Snyder.
Carlsbad has a reputation as a growing and changing arts community, with abundant public art (an interactive map). The Carlsbad Art Wall is a wonderful part of our expanding and ever-changing arts community!
It’s common to see people standing around watching the wall mural emerge before their eyes, since the new installations are announced in advance, with the opportunity to talk with the artist.
Here are some recent Carlsbad Art Wall murals to enjoy:
Carlsbad Art Wall October 2019
Carlsbad Art Wall January 2019
Carlsbad Art Wall October 2018
The #CarlsbadArtWall is a fun and public opportunity for talented artists to showcase their creativity for visitors and residents to enjoy for a few months, and a special addition to our Village by the Sea!
