Our Cocoa Beach weather is running hot and cold!

It's the Cocoa Beach cool down!

We have had a warmer than normal February this year with temperatures above normal 17 days so far. That all changed last night when a cold front came through, bringing some rain and very high winds.

Locals look forward to the occasional cold fronts since it gives us a chance to wear our "winter" clothes and enjoy the fresh air. Surfers enjoy the ocean swells and word is that the fish bite best when it's cold enough to wear a jacket. Today was not a good day for either surfing or fishing due to the high wind but tomorrow is supposed to be much better.

Our high today was only 60*, a drop of over 20* and well below our normal high of 70-75*. The wind is out of the north at 30+mph with occasional gusts even higher.

The forecast calls for less windy with a high of 70* tomorrow and mid-70s on Sunday. On Monday we are supposed to be back to 80* and sunny...perfect beach weather.

Good morning Diana. Temps in Chicago vary greatly and tomorrow we may hit 50 before reality returns. Enjoy your day!

Hello Diana - I am sure the change in temperature for Cocoa Beach is still quite idyllic for many especially those snowbirds and anyone who enjoys the good life.

Wayne, That is what my mother used to call "Pneumonia Weather" and we are in for similar next week.

They are predicting 80s on Monday/Tuesday then Wednesday rain as another front comes through...low 40s ThursdayFriday. Hoping they're wrong!

That's Florida winter for you!

Michael, It is...the snowbirds laugh at us since they are used to much colder temperatures and the tourists don't seem to mind it. It's the locals who consider anything under 70* cold. Diana

We managed to hit 70 for just a little while but the wind is still pretty strong today...not nearly as bad as yesterday but enough to make it feel colder. We were in the 80s before this front so about a 15* cool down for us.
