As soon as you notice this, start your search on how do you fix moving pavers.

How Do You Fix Moving Pavers - How do you fix pavers?

Searching for exterior home remodeling ideas? Consider remodeling your existing pavers. Whether you are wondering if you can install pavers over concrete or fixing moving pavers you’ll need to know all about how to maintain pavers. In this article you will get tips on how to take care of your paved surfaces.

Start with the size.

When you decide to replace a section of the paved ground, it is important you get the sizing right. It has to be the same paving slab or paver size. You do not want to cause depressions on your driveway just because you forced a larger piece into place. If only what you get is a mismatching slab replacement, you can plant some grass on the gap to cover the defect.

Your safety is a priority.

There is no point putting yourself in danger. If you feel that something is too heavy to lift alone, you should get someone to help. You should also have goggles to prevent dust and other dirt entering your eyes. Moreover, put on your heavy duty gloves to lift the slab. Now that your safety is in no doubt, you can go ahead with the replacement.

Steps to follow when replacing moving paving slab.

  • Use a spade to remove the slab from its place. Make sure you have some timber around to prevent breaking the adjacent slabs.
  • Get a broom handle and fit it under the slab to lift it safely.
  • Get out the bolster material under where the slab was placed. You do this to get a flat surface for the replacement. If sand was used, level it again before placing the new slab. You can also fill in more sand to ensure that there will be no gap beneath.
  • It is now ready to be placed in the slab and leave a gap between the pavers. Fit it in slowly until it fills up the entire gap. Press it on the sides to make sure no gaps are left. The joints should be reinforced with mortar. Now your job is done and the problem solved.
  • Leave the area to dry before you can put it under heavy use.
  • Since there will be some loose debris around the area, use a broom to sweep away dust any other solids around.

It is frustrating to step on your paved paths at home and feel a paver move or see a few pavers that are loose. It means something is not right and you should fix it before it becomes a big problem. You should no longer worry about how do you fix moving pavers. This post has done the heavy lifting for you and your only role is to follow the steps. Do not take chances with your safety and contact an industry expert if need be.
