Mindfulness has infinite benefits. On a walk, taking each step deliberately, as well as each breath you take, as well as taking note of all you hear becomes a joyful journey. "Walk as if you are kissing the earth!" is one of our favorite quotes by Thich Nhat Hanh. We think of it often as we walk on the beach.
In being mindful in all your activities, you will notice a peaceful feeling, these words by Eckhart Tolle express it beautifully, “In today’s rush, we all think too much — seek too much — want too much — and forget about the joy of just being.” We both remember a lecture by Wayne Dyer who reminded us that we are human beings, and not human doings!"
When you are present, you let go of your mind. You are not your mind, you have a mind. Your mind is like a computer that is always on: ready to judge, see, refer to the past, the future and all other experiences. We have forgotten that we can turn it off “Let go of your mind and then be mindful. Close your ears and listen!”– Rumi.
Many of us look at someone, and immediately start assessing them with our pre-conceived notions (prejudices) instead of really seeing them. “Look at other people and ask yourself if you are really seeing them or just your thoughts about them.”– Jon Kabat-Zinn and Thich Nhat Hanh says, “For things to reveal themselves to us, we need to be ready to abandon our views about them.”
When you are not computing using your mind, you see what really exists instead of what you think exists in front of you. What we have found is that when we practice mindfulness, we inevitably will find ourselves being in the right place at the right time, good things coming our way, and life feels like a joyful flow. "Life is a dance, mindfulness is witnessing that dance."--Amit Ray
We sincerely hope that these words inspire you as much as they inspire us on a daily basis. Wishing you all a delightful Monday, and a great week ahead.
