This morning I was woken up by one of my dedicated home loan agents. He had a set of documents that needed to be signed TODAY. The husband and wife would not be available at the same time so I would have to meet each of them at different times in their home. There was about 2 hours of time to kill between each of them. He should have known better, but he was bargaining with me and begging me and telling me to charge him more for the appointment. He was very apologetic for the last-minute notice.

When will he learn that he doesn't have to do that? He's my client. I'm happy to have the business. I've never conducted business with him in a way that would suggest he would have to beg, bargain or offer more money for me to take his business.

What I did love is that I had another opporutnity to take a frazzled client and make his day. I assured him that he did not need to pay more money because he takes such good care of me. I thanked him for sending all of his document signing business to me and promised to get this done for him. I told him not to worry about it. I would make it all work out.

I can never get enough of this; increasing my value to my agents by bending over backward to take care of them without demanding more money. I've got great brand loyalty as a result.

I don't share this to brag. I just love doing business in a way that my agents know they're getting value for their dollar. It's fun to share stories where I get to reinforce that message.
