What you can learn from Dr. Seuss

If you've read Dr. Seuss, you know there's a lot to be learned from his books - and not just for children.

One of my favorites is "Did I Ever Tell You How Lucky You Are?" It's good to think about that now and then.

But today I'm thinking of a whole different topic - what we can learn from Dr. Seuss's methods.

Click here to discover "The Weird Strategy Dr. Seuss Used to Create His Greatest Work."

Enjoy!

I am a huge Dr. Seuss fan, and loved the article. What a great story about working with contrainsts that others might deem impossible. It's all about the attitude and perspective - once again. :)

Well how interesting is this Marte! I had no idea of how Dr Seuss began his story telling. It truly is all about attitude and seeing possiblities every where.

Michael Jacobs I agree - he taught so many things, but in a fun way.

Nina Hollander I'm sorry you missed that! Dr. Seuss is especially fun to read aloud. The constraints ARE something to ponder -they could become serious motivation.

Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD Yep - there's that attitude! I like "How can I do this?" a whole lot better than "This is impossible."

Anna Banana Kruchten Broker/Owner, CRB, CRS I'll bet when those two men made the bet they had no idea of the eventual outcome. It really does show how one seemingly small thing can grow huge beyond belief.

Sheila Anderson I loved reading his books aloud to my kids - fun stuff! I also think we can gain something from the strategy that produced that first book.

Thanks Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD. I certainly liked it well enough to share!

Always loved him myself and so did our kids.  And now our grandson.  Love the bet and the book.  Certainly a lesson to be learned there.

What an interesting article! Green Eggs and Ham happened to be my favorite Seuss book growing up, and it's the one I had the most fun reading to my children when they were growing up. I had no idea where it came from.

And I found the discussion about constraints to be quite interesting.

Thank you!

Grant Schneider I took that trip too - I think I read every single Dr. Seuss book to my boys.

Don Baker Yes - when my granddaughter came along I bought a big book filled with Dr. Seuss stories for my son to read to her.

Kat Palmiotti Yes - I had read about his accomplishments before he "became Dr. Seuss," but didn't know the story of how it all started. Looks like constraints can be a very good thing!

Thankful to read this and see how Dr. Seuss won that $50!    Interesting and thought provoking topic on constraints, too.
