What is the best way to respond to leads that come in late at night? We have thought of a few options...
1. Call Them
You're up, the lead is up - why not have a quick conversation? Even if it is for a brief "okay, I'll see you tomorrow".
2. Text or Email Them
If after 8pm you feel like enjoying your much needed down time, you can simply text or email them. Find out more about them, then say you will do some research and follow up the next day.
3. Respond in the Morning
You get to set your own hours. If you want to maintain those boundaries, then respond in the morning.
4. If on Facebook - Set up an Auto-Responder
If you get a message on Facebook, you can set up an autoresponder to tell them about your hours. It can also suggest common questions like "what is my home worth?" and "what homes are available?" to take the lead straight to your website. (You can read more about auto-responders here: https://blog.zurple.com/how-to-set-up-a-facebook-autoresponse-that-converts-real-estate-leads)
I'm personally on the side of not responding until the morning. Doctors, lawyers, personal trainers, etc shouldn't have to respond to you at 10pm - it should be the same for real estate agents. There's a fine line between "above and beyond" customer service and maintaining a healthy life outside of your work. It's different for everybody.
