As Long Island Realtors®, Lawrence & Sheila Agranoff hear this question all the time from homeowners who want to sell their Long Island home or condo, "What Should We Do To Get Our Home Ready To Sell?"
Here Are Some Suggestions...
DE-CLUTTER:
Our very first suggestion is to De-clutter. Reducing the clutter in your home will automatically simplify what else is needed to be done before getting ready to sell your home. Homes that are clutter-free will help potential buyers focus on the space and the elements of your living environment that they will enjoy too.
CLEAN:
Clean EVERYTHING. Before listing your home, give your home a deep clean. Mop, Dust, Scrub it all!
MINOR REPAIRS:
Fix leaking faucets, broken screen doors, hanging door knobs, cracked windows, ripped screens, replace missing light bulbs, and a gallon of paint can do wonders. Remember neutral colors work best.
PACK AWAY YOUR PERSONAL ITEMS:
De-personalize. Yes, now is the time to pack away any of your personal items. Photos, knick-knacks, mementos, refrigerator magnets, sports memorabilia, valuables...well you get the picture. Take the "you" out of sight so that potential buyers can see themselves livini in the space.
THE PRICE IS RIGHT:
Besides Location, Price, Price, Price is going to get your home sold. You'll want to take all the above steps to sell your home for the best possible price. However, a buyer will not pay more for your home than the market will bear. If a home is not priced right, it will linger on the market no matter how well it shows.
So there you have it!
These are just 5 suggestions that you should do before meeting with your Listing Agent.
When you are ready to sell your Long Island home or condo, let's discuss your goals and how we will market your property for the best results to get it SOLD!
