As of last week, the new $7 million dollar main terminal at Ocala International Airport is open for business.
Made possible by Sheltair (the airport's operator), the airport, the city, and the Florida Department of Transpoprtation, the nearly 16,000-square-foot terminal houses Sheltair and airport offices, three rental car companies, community event space, and a soon-to-come local restaurant.
This new build is good news for Ocala because it means more business and leisure travel in and out of the city, including to and from the highly anticipated World Equestrian Center scheduled to open in 2021.
