Spring Cleaning And Selling in Delaware County, PA

A Group of Robins in DelcoSpring is almost here!! Robins can be seen in large numbers on lawns and daffodils are beginning to bloom. If you are planning to put your house on the market this year, now is the time to be preparing your house for sale.

Spring is traditionally a good time to put a house on the market, because Buyers traditionally begin their search for a new home as the weather warms.

Spring Cleaning, or a deep clean, is such an important element in preparing a house for sale here in Delaware County PA. To me, Spring Cleaning is an intentional labor of care: refreshing a home, getting rid of smells from the long winter months of the house being closed up, and is the time to de-clutter and do a deep clean of every surface in the house.

In my early days living with my parents, Spring was always the time of year when we females in my family were expected to help my mother with Spring Cleaning. This meant touching every surface in the house: wiping everything down, washing all the curtains, windows, linens, baseboards, straightening up closets, cleaning out the fridge and freezer, opening the windows, putting in the screens....on and on and on. It was a lot of work in a three story house, but I have to say, I learned how to clean, and most importantly, learned the benefits of this labor, which transformed a house from an enclosed space to a bright, fresh smelling home. Truly a fresh start, a welcoming embrace of the outdoors, inviting nature back into the house with windows being opened and freshness everywhere.

Now if you are hoping to sell your house this year, now is the time to be in the thick of things, preparing your house for sale. Cleaning is so important, getting rid of dirt and bad odors, de-cluttering. Now is the time to thoroughly clean your house. If you have the means to hire a professional cleaner, by all means do so.

If you want to make a great first impression on Buyers entering your home when your house becomes an Active Listing in Delaware County, do not skimp on doing a deep clean of your house. Make that great first impression for Buyers coming into your home by doing a thorough Spring Cleaning!

Hi Gloria, spring cleaning kind of goes on all year long in my area.  And I so agree, it takes effort and some time to prepare a home for the market.  On your mark, get set, start cleaning and getting rid of stuff!

Hello Gloria - I think my Mom missed the Spring Cleaning for Females memo because cleaning(and deep cleaning) was  something I "participated" as well and it seems to be "scheduled" throughout the year.  Good training?  Maybe.  It also included the exterior of the house with yard maintenance too as my Dad must have realized how successful this event was for my Mom.

I'm a big fan of Spring Cleaning and look forward to getting things spruced up after our winter storms. Naturally, it's also imperative to do prior to listing a home. We've got two getting some prep work done before we list them soon.

Spring cleaning is always an important part of becoming market ready in real estate.  But, I think it is more important this year, than ever before!
