Hi Bob- goodness gracious. I would have eaten the cupcake too!  I do think this may be a boom to the local chain grocery stores where you can go on the internet, place your order and drive up to get it. But that has more to do with convenience. I agree with Ron and Alexandra Seigel ...perhaps this will finally get us all to wash our hands more often! (and cover our mouths when sneezing.)

All interesting thoughts, but at some point common sense needs to kick in.  I know I won't be washing any cans before doing so, containers that have my coffee creamer, and the list goes on.  So, was the cupcake good, or great?

Good morning, Bob... I'm with you on this... I'd have eaten that cupcake, myself. But I probably wouldn't even have had those thoughts you did in advance. 

You're a brave man Bob, I would have at least shared it with my wife so we would both be sick together. That's true love.

Hello Bob - are you still there?  And evidence of the cupcake?  Maybe just a morsel?  Was it as tasty as it sounded?

The most positive take away from all of this drama is that more people are using good preventative measures to avoid spreading any kind of germs - viral or bacterial.  Bet the cupcake was delicious too. D 

We can really paralyze ourselves if we over think everything.  Yesterday, I ran a gate at a festival.  We processed over 4,000 attendees in just a couple hours.  I had volunteers back out for sound reasons.  One school district in Elk Grove has been shut down. Our Governor has declared a state of emergency.  We took precautions, just like we did last year and the year before and had a great time.  If I get sick,  you all will definitely know why!

I think if anyone gets sick it may be impossible to know why.

Think of a simple trip to the gas station. You pull your card out of your wallet, put it in the machine, and then put your finger on the key pad to punch in your numbers. Then you pick up the gas pump, pump gas, put it back, close the gas cap, put your card in your wallet, grab your keys, and then put your hands on the steering wheel. Maybe you pick up your phone. If someone had touched the key pad or picked up the gas pump with any kind of virus, it could now be on your car, your credit card, your key, your phone, your steering wheel. It's simply impossible to avoid germs.

Unless you stay in your home and never go out and never get close to another human being, there's always a risk that we're going to get something. Before this virus and after it.

And that's not living.

Bob there is a million ways you can catch this virus.  I can't let the fear of it control my life.  I wash my hands a hundred times a day, I will keep on being a clean freak, and hope I don't come in contact with anyone or anything that can infect me.

Go for the Cupcake!! Sweet! More people have died from lightening strikes than Cupcakes! We just have to live our lives and not fall for this media panic frenzy

But do have some Corona, the beer that is.  As Debe Maxwell, CRS pointed out in her Coronavirus post, the namesake beer has nothing to do with the virus!

Long before Corona I had those questions regarding restaurants. I mean think about it...if we did think about it none of us would ever eat out again. LOL

You raised an excellent point. Being cautious and careful makes sense but you don't want to become parlized by fear or overthinking. I do think the emphaasis on hand washing is a good one and a practice we probably an improve on.

Which is exactly why I'm going to meet friends at an oustide bar for St Paddy's day with hand sanitizer in tow!  Use napkins everywhere you go and avoid indoor, busy crowds!
