Montgomery County, MD Senior Town Hall Meeting

 

The Montgomery County Council will host a Senior Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday, March 11 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The meeting will take place at the Leisure World Club House 2 auditorium (3300 N. Leisure World Blvd. in Silver Spring).

Doors will open at 8 a.m. with a continental breakfast. From 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. the following County agencies and organizations will be there to provide resources and information: Office of Consumer Protection, Habitat for Humanity, The Senior Connection of Montgomery County, Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service and the Montgomery County Department of Transportation.

Attendees not residing in Leisure World must stop at the security gate before proceeding to the Town Hall Meeting.

The Montgomery County Council has postponed a senior town hall meeting that was scheduled for Wednesday, March 11 at 8 a.m. at Leisure World in Silver Spring.

Connecting seniors with county resources is an essential element of the Council’s senior town halls. On March 11, the Council had planned to have a number of government department representatives in attendance to make these service connections including the Department of Health and Human Services, the Fire Rescue Service, the Police Department, Montgomery County Recreation, the Department of Transportation, the Montgomery County Volunteer Center and the Office of Consumer Protection.

Montgomery County government is currently on active status which means that local government resources are focused on the health and safety issues associated with COVID-19. Given these recent developments, the Council is postponing the Leisure World town hall to a later date.

Sounds as if the meeting is postponed for a time. I guess the risk of spreading germs is cancelling quite a few planned events.
