Corona, Closings, Crowds & Church

what's going on?Unless you've just come down out of a moutain hermit's cave, you've heard about the corona virus COVID-19.

If you're a big sports fan you're probably in full withdrawal.  NBA, NHL, NCAA basketball, MLS, MLB, you may have to resort to badminton tournament reruns.

My engineering job just put the site into work from home mode.  Unless you have an essential must be there in person role, working remote is the order of the day.

Rumor has it P&G did the same today and I expect other companies to follow suit.

Governor Dewine just closed schools for the next 3 weeks so parents are in scramble mode for day care or working from home.

The stores are crowded and depending on product, the shelves are bare (and that's with the nearest confirmed case in Ohio in the other corner of the state).  Hopefully you have sufficient food and TP to endure the disruption to supplies.

Part of the governor's guidance is no events with large crowds.

Our church (Christ's Church at Mason) just emailed that Sunday's service will be held without the congregation present.  We'll still have services, but online only.  Our church has hosted online services for a couple of years (we have remote churches around the US and the world), so the capability is still there to host via Facebook Live or online at ccmasonlive.churchonline.org

Services are held Sunday's at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.  Please join us if you need a church home either long term or short term.

We're not the local COVID-19 experts, do stay tuned with the CDC for best precautions and while many mean well, the information on Facebook just MIGHT not be accurate (surprised by that??).

As of now, there are no restrictions on buying or selling homes, so we'll still be taking care of clients.  Really interested in seeing a home but are self-quarantined?  We can do live video tours if there's a home that REALLY strikes your fancy.

Bill- I cannot tell you how disappointed Larry is about the cancellation of the NCAA Tournament but it's the least of anyone's problems. Our schools are closing here as well as the Houston Rodeo.  And I agree with you...stop reading the posts on social media that may or may not be accurate.

I think a lot of small businesses are going to be hurt badly by the next few weeks/months.

I love the idea of doing videos for people who are self-quarantined. Our schools have closed here, all of the weekend planned activities for the grandsons birthdays have been cancelled. Strange times.

We've done Skype tours for out of staters, so why not locals that would prefer to minimize outside contact?

Liz and Bill Spear - From city to city, state-to-state, and countries overseas, this is becoming the new normal. I checked my Neighborhood Social Media and a neighbor was begging for Toilet Paper. The concept of rationing is in effect and many closings here too. Realtor are still in operation and taking precautiions.

Your post is very good and informative too. Be safe and stay healthy. Rumor is floating around in my area it could be like this for at minimum one year.

Empty shelves, rationing, both in effect here for various items.  I don't expect this to last a year, but longer than a few weeks, but I'm also not a disease specialist.

Hello Bill(and Liz too) - yes, ways to adapt our routines may be necessary.  Likely, some of these plans will be temporary and others may be found that will lead to additional changes that become part of our routine.

I'm expecting more of the temporary glitch except for those that have to deal with this firsthand.

You should be staying home and maybe drinking a Corona. I’m not taking any chances.
