You kids sure have a lot of energy - post, post, post, post...
While I wasn't born on Friday the 13th very often, why every few years or so, my birthday falls on it! So, yo no afraido (perfect Spanish...).
I think the origination of bad luck had to do with the killing of a bunch of Templars on Friday the 13th. They did not wear black, however.

Town is shut down. Good time to post. LOL
Hope you're doing well. And, like me, I'm sure you've had a couple on Easter.
By the way, the number 13 has great symbolism in the founding of this country and it is repeated over and over in many contexts. It was considered the opposite of bad luck, having to do with growth and good fortune.
Look at all the ways 13 appears on the dollar bill, front and back!

Which just goes to show, so much of life is all in the way you look at it. I'll have to check out the dollar bill. Hugs to you, my friend.
Mimi Foster - Fear no evil. I don't believe in superstitions.

Amen, my friend.
Good morning, Mimi... I have no fear of Friday the 13th or of the #13... in fact, it's my lucky number and I have a gold 13 on my charm bracelet for luck. Amazingly enough, 20+ million Americans fear Friday the 13th.

Thank you very much for your comment on my recent post.
Have a very special weekend. You no longer need to be alert for black cats.
13 is the number of death and rebirth . . . the flowering of an old seemingly dead tree that when given a little love and some pruning became majestic again.
I am not afraid of a haircut, doll. It will grow back.
After the events of this past week, having the week end with a Friday the 13th seems so fitting. And, today is International Pi Day (3:14).

Poppycock! What a fun word. Friday the 13th never bothers me, however this year it was a particularity sad day for us. But, it was just a date. Speaking of Mac, thank you. We are missing his calm presence every day...especially right now. Hugs to you.

I agree, Mimi, I say it too “POPPYCOCK!” Love the example you provided...I might go out and buy a lotto ticket on Friday,
My bride and I consider this our lucky day in fact. 13 is a shared lucky number to us.
It just wasn't lucky for the Knight's Templar...which historically is also one of the basis for the superstition because the King of France betrayed and executed them on Friday the 13th.
But, even as a house painter, I walked under many a ladder. My superstitions seem to be self invented, I do not adhere to any of the mainstream hand-me-downs.

Always be an original. Everyone else is taken. Hugs to you, my friend!
Mimi,
We agree with you wholeheartedly. We have never bought into that and it is poppycock! Happy Friday! A

Yeah, it has absolutely no basis in reality. Hope you're enjoying some sunny skies. It's snowing here again today (was 60° + yesterday).
