I personally think that everything is moving towards automation. If you think about it with all these new MLS companies and now with this Listing Book you really don't need a realtor. If you have any kind of common sense and a knowledge of computers you will be able to do all of this without the need of a realtor except for the paperwork.  I see the system being menu driven like if your selling press 1 if your buying press 2 and so on. Then  they would be prompted to put in the numbers of the property that they want. The last prompt would be if you need to speak to  a person press 0.  We would all become Zero's. I dont want  to scare anyone but it can happen.

Hi Steven ... Whenever anyone asks me if I think we could be replaced by machines, my standard answer is ... no machine could take such abuse!

It can't happen.  There are too many questions and the need for interaction and discovery.

Steven - Find me a computer than is compasionate, understanding, one that can help a customer with making a logical decision when their mind and body are filled with emotions.  Find me a computer than can overcome buyers remorse.  I believe the top agents who provide honest and reputable service will be in MORE demand than ever before.

LOL, I have to agree with Marie on that one.  A machine could definitely not take the kind of abuse that we are subjected to in this business.  And by the way, they already have agents who do this that work for companies that give them rebates for doing part of the work like REDFIN!
