In Sickness & In Health…Our 2020 Pledge to You

We are living in uncertain times right now but, please know that The Maxwell House Group is moving forward to help each and every one of our clients who have real estate needs. We operate in a service-oriented, people business but, know that so much of what needs to be done in the home-buying and selling process, can be done via phone, text, email and video conferencing.

Here are a few Charlotte homebuyer & seller tips.

Coronavirus and real estate

We are currently bridging the gap of tasks that require our buyers to meet in person. We are showing homes via video visits and FaceTime tours for buyers who have exposure concerns - or sellers who limit the number of visitors in their homes. And, we definitely won’t be shaking hands or hugging - until further notice!

We’ve canceled all open houses for the foreseeable future and are requiring a pre-approval letter or proof of cash on-hand before any showings. We suggest sellers provide disinfectant wipes and even a box of gloves for buyers to use as they tour - to open cabinets and doors. As home sellers, we also suggest that you disinfect all countertops, handles, knobs & ‘facilities’ upon returning to your home after all showings.

Take a wipe

Just as we were during the 2008 recession, we assure you that we are here for you, through all of the uncertainty…and will be until we come out of this - together.

Please continue to support local businesses as we all do our part, looking for innovative ways to make certain that our businesses & our neighbors businesses are running smoothly in these uncertain, unprecedented times.

You're in the perfect niche, Endre! I love face-to-face but, think we'll be giving that up to virtual reality for a few weeks to come. We shall see!

You can trust me for all your real estate needs!

Yes we are in some interesting times with all of this. But I think being a solid rock for your clients what they need. Continue being there, being responsible, prompt and helpful is what got us through 12 years ago...let's do it again! Don't forget to wash your hands!

Great tips, Debe... Coldwell Banker sent out similar tips... a lot of this is common sense and some are things we wouldn't normally give a moment's thought to, but should in current circumstances.

Debe, this is a terrific post... love it! I was telling my broker that we should make sure when showing houses, the buyers were gloves, booties and a mask!

I agree - just be sensible. I hadn't been to town for over a week, but went today and took precautions - using hand gel before and after entering each store, wiping down the handle on the grocery cart, etc.

If we would all do this - all the time - perhaps the "regular flu" would not kill 12 to 60 thousand people each year.

Helping make your real estate dreams a reality

Since we're not showing property (in addition to no broker tours or open houses) we've been discussing with our legal department different ways to protect our clients yet allow purchases to go forward. A new Coronavirus addendum has been created to allow to flexible contingency periods and close of escrow. Some lenders are doing drive-by appraisals. Most of our local counties can do recordings electronically. Making an offer "subject to" visual inspection by the buyer when shelter-in-place is lifted. Lots of changes and possibilities exist.

EXCELLENT, I was waiting for this post.  I showed a property Tuesday and we were on edge.  I used hand sanitizer as soon as I got in the car before I touched anything.  Good idea to have sellers provide such items.

I started wearing plastic gloves to the office on MOnday and brought my own bleach water and towel--got some funny looks.  No longer!  Also have these supplies when I did an inspection yesterday.  Really can't be too careful!
